How does good neighbor rx work?
You can use Good Neighbor RX to compare prescription prices and get discounts at local pharmacies. Simply search on the website or smart phone app (coming soon!) to find the lowest price near you. Enter the name of the drug and your zip code. The most common form, strength and quantity of that prescription drug will show by default. If your prescription differs, be sure to adjust the drug details. Then print or show the card (next to the price) to the associated pharmacy to receive your prescription at that price.
is my personal information secure?
Yes. We do not require registration to use our website or apps. We do not collect, track or sell your medication search or purchase information. It is completely confidential.
how much can i save using Good Neighbor RX?
Using Good Neighbor Rx discount codes will generally result in a savings of 10 to 90 percent off retail prices.
is this an insurance program?
Good Neighbor Rx is not an insurance program, but a discount program for prescription drugs. If you have insurance, Good Neighbor Rx prices are often lower than insurance. It’s a good idea to show your pharmacist both the Good Neighbor Rx card and your insurance card.
If i have insurance, how can i use good neighbor rx?
If you have insurance, your prices may be different from those shown on our comparison tool. Often our discount codes will result in better prices than your insurance price especially if you have a high deductible plan or if your drug is not on their drug formulary list. Simply ask the pharmacist to check the price using your insurance and the LowestMed discount codes to see which one is best for your purchase.
Can i get discounts on brand and generic drugs?
Yes. Many name brand drugs have generic alternatives. When a generic is available, Good Neighbor Rx first displays the prices for the generic drug. To change between generic and brand name prices, simple click the tab on the price results page. Many generic drugs can be purchased for $4 at Walmart, Target, Kroger, or other pharmacies with cash discount pricing. Special pharmacy price lists, like Costco’s, are also included to help you find the lowest possible price.
which pharmacies honor the good neighbor rx discount?
Good Neighbor Rx is honored at over 60,000 pharmacies including: CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Costco, Walmart, Target, Kmart, and Shopko. Also included are most regional grocery store chains like: Kroger’s, Safeway, Fred Myers, Giant, HEB, Wegmans, Meijers, and many more. Most independent pharmacies are also included. You do not need to enroll in their savings clubs or use their in-house discount programs. Our card or app is all you need to get the best prices. The pharmacy must enter the codes from your GoodNeighborRx app or discount card to get your discount.

Good Neighbor Rx is free to consumers thanks to your participating pharmacies paying Good Neighbor Rx a modest referral fee to administer this program.
do i need to register to sign up for good neighbor rx?
No. Good Neighbor Rx does not require any type of registration to use our website, apps or discount cards. We do not collect, track or sell your medication search or purchase information.
How do i get a good neighbor rx card?
If you use the mobile app, a digital discount card can be shown to the pharmacy at the time of purchase. You can also print a card from our website. If you want a more durable discount card, please send us your physical address and we will mail one to you.
why did the price of my prescription recently change?
Prescription prices fluctuate on occasion. We are constantly looking for the lowest price and will do our best to provide you with the lowest price in your area.
do i need to show my good neighbor rx discount card every time?
Yes. The pharmacy may keep your numbers on file, but the discount codes change from time to time so it is always best to provide current discount codes to the pharmacy at each visit.
is the prices on the good neighbor rx site the price i'd pay at the pharmacy?
Yes. The prices shown can only be given if the pharmacy enters the discount codes into their system. Retail prices or insurance prices are not shown. These are specially negotiated prices for consumers using the Good Neighbor Rx discount codes.
my card doesn't work at a certain pharmacy. what can i do?
Although we have contracted with each pharmacy showing in the LowestMed tool, they do have the final say on accepting cards. Our goal is to make sure pharmacies are paid timely and appropriate while getting you the best deal. If they don’t match the prices shown you can choose to purchase at their price or try another pharmacy.
What if my drug or dosage is not found?
Good Neighbor Rx shows prices for all FDA approved prescription drugs. If your drug is not found, check the spelling or expand the radius search for a pharmacy near you. You can still request a card and take it to a pharmacy in your area to received a discounted price.
what if the pharmacy doesn't provide the price listed?
First, check to make sure the quantity and dose are correct. The search tool defaults to the most common quantities and doses for a given medication. However, if the quantity and dose are correct there may be a slight difference due to price changes. Our prices are updated frequently and may be slightly different at the time of purchase. Using the discount codes will still result in a discount.
can i use the good neighbor rx discount card and have it count toward my deductible?
Yes. Simply keep track of your cash payments and submit receipts to your insurer to get credit toward your deductible.
